About Kent Hay

Kent Hay brings more than 25 years of experience in criminal justice, behavioral health, housing, and municipal leadership. His career began in probation and mental health courts and advanced into city government, where he successfully developed and directed homelessness outreach programs in Redmond and Auburn, Washington.

In 2025, he authored Managing Homelessness: How Cities Can Take Back Control with Compassion and Accountability, a book that outlines tested approaches for cities seeking real, measurable results. His work challenges traditional systems that are costly, fragmented, and often ineffective, offering instead a model that emphasizes structure, accountability, and city-led leadership.
